About Us – BR Report

Our Company

At BR Report – Boats Registry, our boat history reports are designed to support sellers by providing a concise summary of available records associated with a vessel.

Information is compiled from available third-party, government, marine-industry, insurance, auction, and other relevant sources. Record availability varies by vessel, and the absence of a record does not guarantee that an event did not occur.

Our reports are intended to serve as seller reference and disclosure-support documents. They are informational resources, not guarantees of a vessel’s condition, value, ownership status, or complete history.

Our Story

In 2020, our founder recognized a challenge in the used-boat market: important vessel history information was often difficult to locate, scattered across multiple sources, or unavailable in one convenient place.

The idea behind Boats Registry was simple: bring available boat history information together in a clear, accessible digital report, helping customers research a vessel’s background and make more informed decisions.

Since our founding, our focus has been on making available watercraft records easier to access, understand, and review. We aim to help boat sellers organize relevant historical information, identify potential concerns, and support more transparent transactions.

Our mission is simple: make boat history information easier to access, understand, and review.

Data Accuracy, Transparency & Trusted Reporting

At BR Report – Boats Registry, we take accuracy, transparency, and responsible reporting seriously. Our goal is to provide clear, professionally presented digital reports that help customers review available historical information when evaluating a boat.

Each report is based on the information available from relevant sources for the specific vessel being researched. Depending on the boat, jurisdiction, and availability of records, information may include:

  • Hull Identification Number (HIN) verification and identifying details
  • Manufacturer, make, model, year, and available specifications
  • Available title and registration information
  • Recorded ownership or registration events, where available
  • Accident, damage, loss, or incident records, when reported
  • Salvage, insurance, and auction-related records, where available
  • Theft-related records, where available
  • Flood, fire, storm, or other environmental damage indicators, when documented
  • Manufacturer recalls and applicable safety information
  • Service, maintenance, and inspection records, when reported
  • Historical photographs and supporting documentation, when available
  • Manufacturer and vessel identification information
  • Other relevant historical details identified in available records

Not every vessel will have information available in every category.

Comprehensive Boat History Reports

Our reports bring relevant available information together in one convenient digital format. Rather than relying solely on a seller’s description or verbal statements, users can review documented information and identify questions that may warrant further investigation.

Whether you are preparing to sell a boat, reviewing a vessel before a transaction, or organizing information for a potential buyer, Boats Registry provides a convenient way to examine available records associated with that vessel.

Our Data-Sourcing Approach

We believe customers should understand the nature and limitations of the information presented in their reports.

Depending on availability, information may originate from government agencies, state registration authorities, manufacturers, insurance-related databases, auctions, authorized reporting entities, marine service providers, inspection records, and other relevant data contributors.

Because these sources are maintained independently, the completeness, accuracy, terminology, and timing of records may vary.

Boats Registry does not represent that every historical event will appear in a report. Events that were never reported, recorded, or made available through the sources used may not be reflected. The absence of a record should never automatically be interpreted as proof that an event did not occur.

Built to Reduce Uncertainty

Buying or selling a boat can involve important financial and practical decisions. Access to historical information can help people ask better questions and conduct more informed due diligence.

Our goal is to make available vessel information easier to review by organizing relevant records into a clear, accessible digital report.

Boats Registry reports are intended to complement, not replace, a professional marine survey, mechanical inspection, sea trial, physical examination, title verification, or other appropriate due diligence.

Transparency & Report Limitations

Boats Registry is committed to presenting available information responsibly. Reports are based on records accessible through the sources used for the specific report at the time it is generated.

Records may be incomplete, delayed, amended, incorrectly reported, unavailable, or subject to jurisdictional limitations.

Accordingly, our reports should be treated as informational due-diligence resources, not as absolute certifications of a vessel’s condition, ownership status, market value, or complete history.

A report with no adverse records does not establish that a boat has never experienced damage, mechanical problems, repairs, theft, flooding, structural issues, or other incidents. Similarly, the presence of a historical record does not, by itself, establish the boat’s current physical condition.

Customers should independently verify important information and obtain an appropriate professional marine inspection before completing a purchase.

Your Information. Your Decision. Our Commitment.

At Boats Registry, we believe better information supports better decisions. We focus on presenting available vessel history in a clear, organized, and accessible format so customers can review relevant details without having to piece together information from multiple sources.

Our commitment is simple: clear information, responsible reporting, transparent limitations, and a better customer experience.

We aim to provide a professionally organized research resource that helps users ask informed questions, identify potential concerns, verify available records, and approach boat transactions with greater confidence.

Our Community

Over the years, we have realized that simply providing information to consumers through our website wasn’t enough to help boating become safer for everyone. Through our partnerships in the marine industry, we have been able to grow awareness and help boaters even more! We are very happy to be members of the Marine Retailers Association of America (MRAA), National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), National Marine Lenders Association (NMLA), and National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) to name a few. We look forward to becoming more involved with each of these organizations, and joining more as we continue to grow. One of our most influential partnerships is our strategic alliance with the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) where our data exchange will help alert the NICB to stolen vessels, while contributing yet another source of information to our extensive database.

Our Partners

We have aligned ourselves with like-minded and influential marine partners that create a positive influence, encourage education, and empower their customers to make the informed boating decisions. Some of these organizations include BoatU.S., International Yacht Brokers Association (IYBA), BoatTest.com, J.D. Power, and iBoats.com. As a marine business, who wouldn’t want to work with those guys?!
